The Fujifilm platform has been the place to be to get excellent APS-C lenses of all shapes and sizes. One of the favorites has been the Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R lens, which serves a role much like an 85mm lens on a full frame (35mm) system. The Fuji X-mount cameras have a crop factor of 1.5x, which gives you an 84mm equivalent focal length and a The retail price of the Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 STM lens is $329 US. Its quality rivals, and sometimes even surpasses, the Fujinon 56mm f/1.2 that retails at about $850. Although I believe that the Fujinon has a small edge optically, it struggles to justify the enormous price hike. I do have the 18/1.4, 33/1.4, 50/2 and 90/2. I'm very content. The 50/2 is a great little lens. I really never gave the 56/1.2 much thought. I am relatively new to the Fuji eco system and purposely held off from buying the 16/1.4 and 35/1.4. I got the 16/2.8 and the 24/2 instead and this held me over until a new 1.4 lenses were introduced. The manual focus tension seems better on the 90mm f2, and the stiffness of the aperture ring is noticeably better on the 90mm. The 56mm f1.2 aperture ring is looser, which is good for changing aperture with one hand but also means that you can jog the aperture by mistake.
